Dr. Zoltán Mari

Zoltan Mari received his MD in 1993 from University of Szeged. He is a board certified neurologist and has subspecialty training in movement disorders. His scientific interest includes human motor control, physiology of dystonia, and Botulinum toxin therapy for neurological disorders. He presently is the director of the Botulinum Toxin Clinic at the National Institutes of Health. He is also a senior clinical fellow at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. He is author of 21 peer-reviewed scientific papers/abstracts, presented 19 papers at international meetings, author of a book chapter, and has a number of awards/honors, including the “Intern of the Year” title in 1998 from Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, and lifetime membership at the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Mari is an avid supporter of Hungarian-American scientific relationships. He is working to help improve knowledge transfer between Hungarian scientific communities in Hungary and in the US. He is currently the group leader of the HunEx BioMed Group.
